Summer sun at Unity of DaytonGreetings Friends,

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful Ohio summer. At Unity of Dayton, we’ve just begun our fall lesson series based on Michael Singer’s bestselling book, The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself. I believe that each of us reaches a point where we’re no longer satisfied with talking about spirituality; we’re ready to step into a more Spirit-led, joy-filled experience of life. If this calls to you, I hope you’ll join us on Sunday mornings in August and September. You’re also invited to join me on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm for our Untethered Soul Discussion Group. Together we’ll explore Who we really are.

On July 29, we had a massive rain storm in Huber Heights, which led to a waterfall in the Sanctuary window at Unity of Dayton. This is NOT happy news! We also had running water in the Book Nook, Ladies Room, and a leaky window in the YOU classroom. So… though we thought we had everything sealed up last year, we will still have work to do. The Board of Trustees has agreed that we will obtain at least three cost estimates to repair or replace our roof. We are also looking at three different types of methods and materials to seal the building exterior. We plan to have that information and the cost estimates available at our next Town Hall Meeting on September 13th. Thank you for your contributions to the Building Fund on the 3rd Sundays of each month. We thank God for the abundance in which we live, move, have our being, and repair our building!

Are you looking for a way to give lots of love and become more involved in service at Unity and in our greater community? If so, I invite you to consider stepping into the role of Unity of Dayton’s Outreach Team Leader. Sacred Service is a powerful path to spiritual awakening. Please see me if you feel called to this or have questions. You will be blessed!

I’m excited about our musical weekend coming up in August. We’ll have Douglas Bluefeather in concert on Friday the 21st at 7 pm. Douglas will also provide music and message on Sunday the 23rd, and if you want to experience more of the Native American flute, Douglas is facilitating a workshop on Sunday at 1:30 pm. If you haven’t already heard Douglas play, you are in for a treat!

Finally, I want to express my appreciation for all who give of their time, finances, and spiritual gifts to make Unity of Dayton such a wonderful place to practice the Presence of God. Your love and energy are making a powerful difference… and I am grateful.

In loving service,

Rev. Cindy
