February is Love in Action month at Unity of Dayton! Each Sunday during the month we take a few moments to thank those who give of their time to make Unity of Dayton the wonderful spiritual community that it is. A great big THANK YOU! To all who give your time and loving energy in sacred service. Following the Sunday service on February 22, we’ll have a “Sacred Service Fair” for those who would like to learn more about our service opportunities and get “plugged in” to your own spiritual awakening power.
More good things are happening at Unity! You won’t want to miss the Unity Talent show on Friday, Feb. 20th at 7 pm. Thanks to Tony Gerardi and the Music Team for sponsoring this event. Dan Studebaker is facilitating a new study group based in Joel Goldsmith’s book, “The Infinite Way,” and Rev. Sue is facilitating “The Quest” class on Saturdays throughout 2015. If you want to know Unity teachings on a deeper level, join Rev. Sue on the Quest!. Take a moment to visit us on Facebook!
Congratulations to Donna Baker (meat chili) and Catherine Wicks (veggie chili) for being crowned best chili makers at Unity in 2015! Thanks to all of the chili cooks, cornbread bakers, and others who brought special treats to share. And special thanks to Scott Buchhop and Seth Schlotterbeck for organizing the event.
I hope you’ll be able to attend our 2015 Annual Meeting on March 1st following the Sunday service. Though all are invited to attend, only members may vote in the Board of Trustee election. Cynthia Cully and Sharyn Jackson are running for the two open Board positions. The meeting should last less than an hour, so I hope you’ll stay and add your energy to the business of Unity. Members–if you haven’t already done so, please reaffirm your membership by Feb 22.
In January, things went “bump in the night” at Unity. Our cash register, CD duplicator, and shredder all broke in the same week. And, on Jan 25th, the CD recorder had a hiccough and there is no recording of the service for that date. Good news! The cash register and shredder have been replaced and the new CD duplicator is on its way. If you would like a CD of a service that you missed, please fill out a form and leave it with your love offering in the Book Nook. Our office angels will copy them for you as quickly as possible.
There’s a new guy in town! Roger Swyers has stepped into the position of Custodian here at Unity. If you’re around on Saturday or Sunday evenings, you may see Roger here sprucing up the place. Welcome aboard Roger!
We are joyfully moving into a fantastic new year at Unity. I look forward to seeing you as we share fun, fellowship, and a deepening understanding of our oneness in God’s sacred Presence.
In loving service,
