Unity of Dayton Minister’s Message March 2015

Greetings Friends,

Saturday night it’s time to spring forward. Daylight savings time begins March 8th! Welcome to Spring… well, almost Spring. The Winter weather was still with us on March 1 and we cancelled church on Sunday for the first time in the three years I’ve been here as minister. Safety for all concerned is our highest priority, and even though we didn’t meet, we are grateful that you continue giving your tithes and love offerings. This week we’ll have the joyful feeling of doubling our usual offering. That ought to get the financial energy flowing!

Because of the snow, our Annual Meeting was postponed until this Sunday, March 8th. This week we’re also blessed to have Vision of Unity providing special music… and… the Youth of Unity are cooking up an Irish Lunch for a suggested $7 love offering. Come out for good music, good food, and another Sunday lesson based on Pam Grout’s book, E-Squared.

At the Annual Meeting, members of Unity of Dayton will have the opportunity to vote in the Board of Trustee election. Cynthia Cully and Sharyn Jackson are running for the two open Board positions. The meeting should last less than an hour, so I hope you’ll stay and add your energy to the business of Unity.

We have wonderful Staff at Unity of Dayton. Liesa Chase is simply the BEST Minister’s Assistant. As Music Director, Joy Davis consistently provides wonderful music. Fawnda Cress does exceptional work as our Bookkeeper. Roger Swyers is our custodian and our sacred space is looking good! Thank you all!

Since June 2014, I’m grateful that Beth Powell has been helping a few hours each week in the office. Because Unity of Dayton is growing busier with more classes and activities, we need someone in the office to work more hours than Beth has available. We’re now looking for a Part Time Office Assistant to work between 18-21 hours per week (5-6 on Mon, Tue, Wed and 3 on Sunday).  The ad is posted on Craigslist and on the Church bulletin board. Please email me at: if you would like to fill out a job application. I’m expecting to fill the position no later than April 6, 2015.

Diane Clark has stepped into leadership as the manager of the Book Nook. Stop by to thank Diane and pick up a copy of Daily Word or Unity Magazine. You will be blessed!

As I begin my fourth year as Senior Minister at Unity of Dayton, I’m even more grateful for the opportunity to teach and live spiritual Truth with so many wonderful people. YOU are a blessing to me. As we let our lights shine, we invite others to awaken to their own inner light. We are all ministers here!

In loving service,

Rev. Cindy
