Autumn is here and I’d like to tell you about some wonderful opportunities to share our hearts and minds in our spiritual community. Our Fall Faith series begins on the first Sunday in October and runs until the first week of Advent in November. We’ll be looking at Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book, Being in Balance. If your life isn’t as satisfying and fulfilling as you had hoped it would be, Dr. Dyer teaches ways to bring your habits and desires into balance. If you’d like to look at the ideas in greater depth, join me for a relaxed Book Study group on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm. Don’t have the book yet? If you order it tomorrow in our Book Nook book store, we should have it for you on Tuesday.
Many of us have beloved dogs, cats, fish, guinea pigs, and other pets. If you’d like to have your pets blessed, bring them (or a picture of them if they aren’t able to be present) to church on Sunday, October 2 at 2 pm. It is my joy to bless the animals that bring such joy to our lives. We’ll also have a special blessing for pets who’ve made their transition in the past year. We’re planning for nice weather, so the blessing will be outside behind the church. Drive around and park in back and I’ll see you there!
Unity of Dayton is getting out and about! We’re exploring new ways to make ourselves known and be of service to the greater community, so we’re setting up a booth and giving free goodies and hugs at the Yellow Springs Street Fair on Saturday, October 8th from 9 am till 5 pm. David Hall is offering face painting on a love offering basis, so bring out your little ones (or your own sweet face!) and join in the fun. We’ll be located at Nipper’s Corner, the intersection of Xenia Avenue and Corry Street. Stop by to say “Hi!”
Sunday, October 9th, is New Member Sunday and there also is a Town Hall Meeting following the 11 am service. The meeting will be informal and informative. It’s a time for you to ask any questions you may have for the Board of Trustees. ATTENTION those of you who’ve purchased raffle tickets for Bob Coates’ sculpture, “Body, Mind, and Spirit.” All thirty tickets were sold and the winning ticket will be drawn during the Town Hall Meeting. Thank you Bob, and all who purchased tickets for a total of $1500 toward our new roof. Our roof fund total so far is $17,705.00.
Have you attended one or more of our monthly Saturday healing services? On Saturday, October 15 from 4 to 6 pm, Victoria Haren will present “Energy and Frequency Healing.” This fun and informative opportunity to learn about working with healing energy is provided on a love offering basis. You won’t want to miss it!
There are so many wonderful things happening at Unity in October. Perhaps you’re thinking, “… if only I could find my way through the construction!” Chambersburg Road has been blocked on the West side since mid-August, and the expected completion is mid-November. There’s a map showing the detour in our weekly “Unity News, Classes, and Events” email. If you want more assistance, please feel free to call us at 233-7516. Bravo to those of you who’ve courageously found your way around the barricades.
Finally, I want to thank each and every one of you who have held me in prayer, asked about my well-being, or supported me in other ways as I’ve continued my healing journey. With a totally gluten free diet and the healing power of Spirit, I’m feeling stronger every day! I expect to make a complete and total recovery from gluten intolerance and I’m giving thanks for feeling better now. I believe with all that I am that there are no limitations for those who put their full faith and trust in the healing power of God. That power is within me and within you… and with God, all things are possible!
Thank you for being the Light that you are in Unity.
In loving service,
Our prosperity affirmation:
God is the Source of Unity of Dayton’s limitless supply.
As the Spirit of God works in, through, and as me, I gratefully receive and generously give.
I live in appreciation and am prospered in all my ways. Thank you God!
