Have you ever had a time in your life when things seemed chaotic… until a new, higher sense of Divine Order prevailed? When the dust settles, we realize that whatever happens in our lives, God will find a way to use it for good. In the meantime, we get to choose where we focus our thoughts… on the problems of the past? Or, do we look for the good? It’s important to take time to feel our feelings and grieve our losses. And, when we are ready, we look beyond appearances to the Truth. We keep our mind on God and shift our focus to co-creating what we value the most.
What happens in our individual lives is also reflected in the life of a spiritual community. Some of you may be hearing about changes that have taken place within the past few weeks. We’ve had three Board members step down, each for her own reasons, and so we want to thank Sharyn Jackson, Cynthia Cully, and Brenda Stoudjohnson for their dedicated service to Unity of Dayton. We love you, we bless you, we appreciate you, and we behold the Christ in you!
When vacancies exist between annual meetings, the Board of Trustees appoints new Board members who are willing to serve. I’m very happy to announce that three dedicated Unity Truth students answered their inner call to Board service at this time. Please join me in welcoming Ann Cruikshank, Cindy Laird, and Dora Lawson as the newest members of the Board. Don Saunders, Joanne Johnson, and Melinda Hall are continuing their dedicated service as Board Officers. Divine Order prevails and we have a great leadership team! We are looking forward to a wonderful year of co-creation and transformation.
This month we also kick off our Roof Capital Campaign Fund. A dedicated team came together to brainstorm and hold the consciousness of “Raising the Roof” at Unity. Please thank Ron and Nancy Brown, Mary Cupples, and Donna Baker for sharing their ideas and energy on this team. You’ll be hearing more in the coming weeks. Please join us in remembering the words of Charles Fillmore, “The Inexhaustible Resource of Spirit is equal to every demand. There is no reality in lack. Abundance is here and now manifest.” The new roof has already been created in God-Mind. We expect to see the manifestation at Unity of Dayton in the Springtime. Thank You God!
November is a time of thanksgiving, so beginning in November, we are focusing on what appreciate about Unity of Dayton. With that in mind, how would you complete this sentence? “I love….” Perhaps it’s the people, the teachings, our amazing church building, or the beautiful grounds. Whatever you love and appreciate, remember the power of thanksgiving in the creative process. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
In loving service,
