Greetings Friends,

Stained GlassToday I am simply feeling grateful. In preparing for our upcoming Annual Business Meeting, I get to reflect back on all of the events of 2015. There were many changes in our spiritual community-some that felt like painful losses-and some that felt like new beginnings. In a similar manner, the gray and barren time of Winter is still in evidence here in Ohio, and yet, the energy of new life is just on the verge of breaking forth into visibility. Spring is getting nearer! And so it is for Unity of Dayton… there is more light-and renewed life energy is breaking forth!

As the conclusion to our lesson series based upon Catherine Ponder’s Dynamic Laws of Healing,it is my honor to welcome our friends, Victoria Haren, Pamela Davis, and Craig and Shirls Hall as they share about renewed life energy in the sacred healing experiences they’ve witnessed. I know you will be inspired and blessed by their message of hope and healing, so please plan to be here for the 11 am service on Sunday, March 13th.

I’m excited to announce that Unity of Dayton is hosting a Sacred Healing Retreat on Saturday, March 19th from 1 to 6 pm. If you, or your friends and loved ones, have a healing need, you are invited to join us for few hours of learning about and experiencing sacred healing. We’ll be providing three different healing opportunities, beginning with Unity Healing Prayer and Meditation facilitated by Rev. Sue and me, followed by Holistic Healing methods with Victoria Haren, and closing with the Infinite Grace Healing Sanctuary facilitated by Craig and Shirls Hall. There is no set fee for the retreat. We will accept love offerings and place our faith in the free flow of God’s limitless supply. Mark your calendar and give yourself the gift of spending a day in healing energy.

I hope you’re planning to attend our Annual Meeting this Sunday, March 6, after the 11 a.m. service. I’m very pleased to announce our five candidates for five open positions on the Board of Trustees. Our nominees for the 2016 Board are: Dora Lawson, Cindy Laird, and Ann Cruikshank, who were appointed by the Board to complete unexpected vacancies. Ron Patterson and Dan Studebaker are running for full three year terms on the Board. All are welcome to attend brief and informative meeting, however, only members can vote on official business matters and Board member elections.

An added note… your Board of Trustees has been looking into the possibility of moving our four stained glass window panels from the side wall to their former location at the front of the Sanctuary. We’ll be looking for your input into this possibility at the business meeting this Sunday, so please join us and add your spiritual wisdom to the discussion.

We are well on our way to having the funds to replace our roof. We now have $12,062.00 in Bill’s Fix-It Fund. When the fund reaches $20,000, the Board of Trustees will reevaluate whether we are in a good financial position to go ahead with selecting the roofing company. The three estimates we received last year were all in the 38K to 48K range, so we’ll also need to call a special business meeting to obtain our membership’s approval to go forward, as required by our Bylaws for expenditures above $25,000. Thank you so much for your contributions and for using your spiritual power of Imagination to see the roof replacement completed. It is already done in the Mind of God!

Today, I’m honored to be beginning my fifth year as your Senior Minister. Thank you for your ongoing love and support, and for being the minister that YOU are in our spiritual community

In loving service,
Rev. Cindy
