Warm weather is here and it’s time for picnics and vacations! Our annual Unity of Dayton family picnic is the first Sunday of June. I hope you’ll join us as we celebrate Nolan’s graduation from YOU during the 11 am service, and then stay for fellowship, food, music, and fun following the service. The church provides fried chicken and you’re invited to bring a covered dish or dessert. Let’s celebrate summer!
While some of us are on vacation and traveling this summer, our Sunday services and activities at Unity of Dayton continue. We have a healing service on each third Saturday, and in June it’s on the 18th. Craig and Shirls Hall and company are facilitating a Healing Sanctuary from 4 to 6 pm. If you’ve never experienced a Healing Sanctuary, please come and allow your spirit, mind, and body to be blessed. All are welcome to attend. A love offering will be accepted for this special service.
Every year, Unity ministers attend the Unity Worldwide Ministries Convention, which this year is being held in Overland Park, Kansas the second week of June. Following that, I’ll be taking two weeks for spiritual renewal and rest. We’ve lined up some of your favorite guest speakers while I’m gone, so please do come out to be blessed by Nancy Whitton, LUT, Rev. George Whitton, and our own Rev. Chase.
Raffle tickets are still available for Bob Coates’ sculpture, “Body, Mind, and Spirit,” You can purchase yours by calling the office or stopping by the Book Nook. As of June 1, the total in our Roof Fund is $14,644.80. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to replace the flat part of our roof. We’re moving in a positive direction! Let us give thanks for the ever-present spiritual substance that supports you as you support Unity of Dayton in maintaining our beautiful church home. We are blessed and so grateful!
At our April Board meeting, your Board of Trustees considered a proposal that was submitted to create a paid part-time position for Pastoral Care. After careful consideration, in May the Board approved a part-time position for an Associate Minister of Pastoral Care. This new position is for approximately 30 hours per month. Many of you know Rev. Sue Bryan through her volunteer work with our Youth Education, Prayer Team, Spiritual Counseling, Spiritual Direction, and Chaplaincy. Rev. Sue has accepted the Associate Minister position effective May 30th. She will continue working with the Prayer Team, and also be available for prayer, spiritual counseling, hospital visits, and memorial services. When you see her, please extend a warm welcome to Rev. Sue in her expanded role at Unity of Dayton, and feel free to call on her for prayer support. You will be blessed.
As a reminder, while you may not be able to attend every week during the summer, your church home must still meet its financial obligations. I invite you to continue your usual tithes and love offerings in support of Unity, either by mail, a link in our emails or website www.unityofdayton.org, or you can donate by calling the office. See you this Sunday. Have a safe and wonderful June!
In loving service,

I live in appreciation and am prospered in all my ways. Thank you God!
