The old year is gone and today we are starting with a clean slate. Happy New Year! If you’re like me, you are ready for a whole new perspective and set of experiences in 2017. The past was released during the Burning Bowl Ceremony on New Year’s Eve, and I don’t know about you, but I was certainly ready to release 2016!
The past year had its challenges and also brought special blessings. The health challenges I experienced brought to me a deep appreciation for the power of prayer. Thank you for all of your prayer support! The change in my health feels like a miracle! Through the experience I was blessed to gain a greater understanding of the power of my thoughts in healing the body. Thoughts of health and wholeness brought a sense of peace, which greatly assisted the healing process. If you’re ever experiencing disease or illness, remember…no matter what the physical condition, God’s power to heal is greater!
Are you ready for a fresh start in 2017? A great way to start is with the White Stone Ceremony at 11 am on Sunday, January 8th this year. The white stone is an ancient ritual and is based on Revelations 2:17. “Let anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches. To everyone who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give a white stone, and on the white stone is written a new name that no one knows except the one who receives it.” In our ceremony, we listen with an inner ear to hear the still small Voice that is always inviting us to a closer walk with God. I hope you will be able to join us for this sacred ceremony.
Though it seems hard to believe, March 2017 marks my fifth year as Senior Minister at Unity of Dayton. It has been my blessing to walk this journey with you, and a time is coming for me to go apart awhile. Beginning in June, I’ll be on sabbatical for three months to go deeper within-a time for spiritual rest and renewal. What exactly is a sabbatical and why does a minister need so much time off? More information will be forthcoming in the next few months. While I’m gone, you will be served by Rev. George Whitton, Nancy Whitton, LUT, Rev. Sue Bryan, Rev. Chase, Douglas Blue Feather, among other wonderful guest speakers. You are loved and will be blessed!
Finally, I want to thank each one who was part of this spiritual community in the last year. Whether you were able to be here physically or were supporting Unity of Dayton from a distance, your love and energy continue to bless all who attend and will attend in the future. We live in uncertain times, but we can be sure of this…God will see us through every trial. God gives us the strength to stand together in unity and in love. We are here to be a light in this world and nothing can dim the light of God’s Light shining through us.
God bless you and yours in this new year!
My love to you,
Our prosperity affirmation:
God is the Source of Unity of Dayton’s limitless supply.
As the Spirit of God works in, through, and as me, I gratefully receive and generously give.
I live in appreciation and am prospered in all my ways. Thank you God!
