Resist Not – Jan. 21, 2018

Charles Fillmore wrote that “resistance is the greatest disintegrating element in the human consciousness.”  If we are not meant to resist situations that seem hurtful to ourselves or others, how then do we respond? Spiritual teachers throughout the ages have addressed this vitally important question.  Discover for yourself the Truth of Imelda Shanklin’s words: “Nonresistance will open for you an entrance to the world of vital possibilities, the living soul and God.”

“But I say to you, Do not resist an evildoer. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also” – Matthew 5.39

Affirmation: Naught can disturb me, for Christ is my peace and my poise.

Nehemiah’s Way – Jan. 14, 2018

Wondering how to rally yourself and others into action to make lasting change in a situation you find unacceptable?  We will look at the leadership style of Nehemiah for direction in accomplishing our heart’s desire and receiving support from others. Nehemiah led his people in rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem in a surprising short time. We will look at how he overcame opposition and motivated people including himself.

“They plotted together to come and fight … but we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat.” Nehemiah 4:8-9

Affirmation: I pray about everything and then courageously move ahead.

White Stone Ceremony – Jan. 7, 2018

The White Stone Ceremony is one of Unity’s best loved services. The ceremony is based upon Chapter 2, verse 17 in The Revelation to John, “Let anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches. To everyone who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give a white stone, and on the white stone is written a new name that no one knows except the one who receives it.” In this ceremony, you will receive a “white stone” and have an opportunity to discern your new name. Please join us as we begin the New Year with a clean slate, consciously saying “Yes” to the calling of God’s Spirit.

“Let anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches. To everyone who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give a white stone, and on the white stone is written a new name that no one knows except the one who receives it.” ~ Revelation 2:17

Affirmation: Behold, I make all things new.

Living Joy – Dec. 24, 2017

Jesus’ birth brought good news of great joy for all humankind! Sacred joy fills us as we prepare for the birth of the Christ presence in our own hearts. This Advent season concludes with a special Candle Lighting Service as we are the living joy of Christmas.

Living Love – Dec. 17, 2017

Charles Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, wrote, “In expression, love is the power that joins and binds in divine harmony the universe and everything in it.” Jesus’ birth marked a paradigm shift—an evolving consciousness of God’s love in the world. This Advent season, love comes alive in us as we follow the commandment given in John 13:34 to “Love one another.”

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” ~ Galatians 5:22-23

Living Peace – Dec. 10, 2017

Though two thousand years have passed since Jesus’ birth, humankind has not yet found a way to be at peace with one another. The peace we’re seeking isn’t found in the world around us. This Advent season, peace comes alive in us as we quiet our minds and feel the peace of the indwelling Christ presence.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives.” ~ John 14:27

Affirmation: I am peaceful and poised in my Christ presence.

Living Faith – Dec. 3, 2017

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

This well-loved verse, Hebrews 11:1, defines faith as much more than wishful thinking or hoping. With assurance and conviction, our faith becomes a living faith. This Advent season, our faith comes alive as we make room in our hearts for the birth of Christ.

“Then Mary said, ‘Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.’” ~ Luke 1:38

Affirmation: I have faith. I pray faith. I live faith.

What’s Beyond Thanksgiving? Nov. 19, 2017
