march-manifestationGreetings Friends,

Charles Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, wrote, “All is finished first in consciousness and mind then rests, in faith, from further mental activity. This ‘rest’ precedes manifestation.” This means we ask in faith and then rest from worry about the “hows” and “whens.” We simply pray and move our feet as guided by Spirit. And that’s just what we’ve been doing here at Unity.

Raising the Roof!

In August, 2015, we obtained estimates to replace the three flat portions of our roof. As soon as the “sticker shock” wore off, we began a capital campaign to raise the funds. My friends, we are now close enough to our goal that the Board of Trustees is calling for a vote to move forward. Whenever we plan to spend more than $25,000, our Bylaws require a vote of the membership during an official membership meeting. That meeting is tomorrow, March 4th, at 12:30. I invite you to attend the meeting and be a part of this Spirit-led process.

There’s another big project that the Board has been building in consciousness as well. We haven’t spoken about it before, but it’s very exciting and I’ll explain it in detail during the Annual meeting. All are welcome and encouraged to attend, though only active members can vote on ballot issues.

Conscious Manifestation

The process of conscious creation begins with knowing who you are and your relationship with God, our Source. We are creative creations co-creating. Made in the image and likeness of Infinite Spirit, we are spiritual beings having a human experience! It is our greatest joy to express our love and creative power for good. We, as a spiritual community, have been building a consciousness of sacred community, spiritual purpose, and selfless generosity. We’ve prayed and acted in faith. And now, we’re blessed to be sacred witnesses to the unfolding of Spirit at work in our spiritual home.

This is the Year

In the six years that I’ve been honored to serve as Senior Minister here, I’ve seen so much positive change. I want to give special thanks to those who’ve served on the Board with me during the past two years. Our meetings begin with meditation and prayer. We are Spirit-led in our discussions and decisions. We live the Unity Principles in sacred service. As we’ve rested from any fear-based mental activity, our roots have grown stronger and deeper. There’s a rising feeling that this is the year for seeing even greater manifestation of outward and upward growth at Unity of Dayton. Let us give thanks and be joyful!

A Month of Love, Valentines, and Sweethearts

Greetings Friend,
love unifies us

Love, Valentines, and Sweethearts

February is a month of love, valentines, and sweethearts, and I’m happy to say we have a real sweetheart visiting Unity of Dayton on the first Sunday this month. Martha Hall Bowman allows love to well up from the center of her being as she reminds us…The Kingdom of God is within you, the Kingdom of God is around you, the Kingdom of God is everywhere you go! Martha is our guest musician for the 11 am celebration service on February 4th. I invite you to join in sharing the love with Martha this Sunday as she shares her music from the heart.

Ready for Spring!

I’ve always felt like February was the longest month of the year; maybe you’ve felt it as well. Even though February is only 28 or 29 days long, the winter has its gray, icy grip upon Ohio. And probably won’t let go for some time. And, just as nature becomes quiet in preparation for a vibrant springtime, it’s good for us to become still and feel the energy that unifies us with God, our Source. Perhaps you’ll spend a bit more time in prayer-in meditation-and when that love begins to well up from the center of your being, what will you do with that energy?
Are you ready and willing to be a radiating center of Christ Light? Yes! So many of you let your light shine every week during our Sunday services. With greetings, hugs, and conversations, you connect heart to heart with your Unity family. We Are Blessed!

Special Thanks

I’d like to take a moment to give special thanks to all who share their love through sacred service at Unity. Whether you serve as an usher, a musician, a teacher, a “techie,” an office angel, or do grounds work, you add positive vibes to our spiritual home and community, too. Also, being part of Unity is like belonging to a big family. If you’d like to “help with the chores” but aren’t certain how you might best serve, feel free to contact me at We’ll find the best way to put your love into action. Just click on the link and send an email. I’d love to talk with you. Thanks to you for letting God’s love well up from the center of your being. And thanks for making Unity of Dayton the very special place it is!
“Love unifies us with God, our Source, and we know that we are good and true and fearless from within, because we let these God qualities well up from the center of our being.” – Myrtle Fillmore, “Mother of Unity”

A Time of New Beginnings

Greetings Friend,

time of new beginnings

Happy New Year! It is 2018 and a time of new beginnings.

You have been granted a release from the past and you now hold the key to new experiences, adventure, greater love, and deeper peace. It might be a year full of ease and grace. It might also be a little messy! We don’t have the details yet, but this I know for certain…you, me, every one of us, we are constantly and tenderly held in God’s love. The Love of God enfolds and sustains us through every change, those that we want and those that we don’t want. So, while we’re here trying to figure out what’s next, God is with us and within us, reminding us to find joy in the now.

The New Year is bringing change to Unity of Dayton

As you may know, Rev. Chase has been working at Unity of Dayton and with Great Lakes Region Unity. She has requested to reduce her hours at Unity of Dayton and we’ve reevaluated the roles she’ll play here. Going forward, Rev. Chase will be working an average of 12 hours per week and will primarily be responsible for our Youth and Family Ministry and for coordinating special events. She will occasionally share a Sunday message with us as well.

Rev. Sue will continue to coordinate the Pastoral Care Ministry and Prayer Team. As you know she is a gifted spiritual counselor with a deep prayer consciousness. We are so blessed!

This change means that, in addition to my other activities, I’ll also be coordinating the service ministries. This includes the Usher Team, Landscape Team, Mowing Team, and Hospitality among others. We may not always do things as we’ve done them in the past, and that’s okay. It may even be a little messy! It’s likely that everything will run smoothly most of the time, though I will most certainly need your help and understanding along the way.

If you’ve been involved in sacred service at Unity in the past

THANK YOU! We appreciate you! In every family there are “chores” to be done, and from personal experience I know that being involved in sacred service really helps us to feel more at home in our church family. If you haven’t been in service, or haven’t been for a long time, please give it some thought and prayer. Very soon I may be asking, “Would you be willing to…?” Remember, you are constantly and tenderly held in God’s love. It’s okay to step out in faith and say yes!

It is my prayer that the love at Unity enfolds and sustains you through every change. Together we will look for the joy of God that’s waiting for us in every moment. Together, we will go forward to more adventure, greater love, and deeper peace in 2018. So bring it on! It’s going to be a fantastic New Year!

In Love and Joy,

Rev. Cindy
